Symantec即將發布新版Backup Exec與LiveState Recovery

Symantec將發布Backup Exec 10d for Windows Servers與LiveState Recovery Suite 6.0。

Backup Exec 10d包含2個新元件－可提供連續資料保護（CDP）功能的Backup Exec Continuous Protection Server（即之前代稱Panther的CDP軟體），以及針對磁碟備份的Designed for Disk Backup Exec 10d。另外Symantec同時還將發表適用於中小企業NetWare和Windows網路備份的Backup Exec 10d for Small Business Servers和Backup Exec 9.2 for NetWare。

而LiveState Recovery Suite 6.0則包括1個允許MIS將任意Windows伺服器或桌面還原到其他Windows伺服器與桌面的新軟體Restore Anyware Option。另外還整合了pcAnywhere的lights out技術、以及能遠端管理伺服器的LightsOut Restore Option軟體。另外還包含頻寬調節、Windows網域控制器支援與SNMP等功能。

在這次改版中Symantec也對原來分屬Veritas與Symantec的備份軟體作了整合，現在LiveState Recovery Manager已能和原屬Veritas的Backup Exec整合，MIS可在Backup Exec下執行LiveState Recovery Manager的備份作業。
