First OpenStack Hackathon in Taiwan kick off!

The first ever Application Hackathon held by OpenStack Foundation officially started in Taipei from 18-20 March. Nearly 300 people participated the hackathon and all of them are competing for the chance to take part in the annual OpenStack Summit in Texas, which is also the grand prize for this event.OpenStack Foundation CEO Jonathan Bryce will come to Taiepi to join hackathon,too.

The three-day hackathon’s theme is “Future City”. All of the participators hve to develop applications related to theme, and the contest will focus on developing solutions for urban challenges. One of the judges, David Flanders which work as a OpenStack Community Manager, told that a winning team must not only focus on their application developing, the team also have to be well prepared for for their presentation. It is because they have to introduce their project to the judges and sure must be attractive.

Moreover, at the final day of the event, Prime Minister of Taiwan, Chang San-cheng will attend the awards ceremony and giving awards to the winner.
